Ballroom
dancing is a spectacle, a public presentation that is curious
and remarkable to behold. In my photographs I strive to create
images of mystery, energy and surreal beauty. In photographing
the dancers, I capture their sense of movement and the dynamics
of their interaction. They glide to the middle of the floor,
strike a pose and are transformed. While enacting the role
of lovers, the performers create an illusion of romance in
a competitive environment. My photographs depict the often
enigmatic and evocative relationship between men and women.
Attracted by the inherent of strangeness of reality, I am
looking for what people suspect is there, but cannot see.
"Kimberly Gremillion
appreciates the spectral and the spectacle. Light
and shadow, etched on paper, dance in a special dimension."
